NBC is planning the retirement of Jay Leno and filling the talk show seats with hosts. Conan O’Brien is taking over the “Tonight Show” reigns and Jimmy Fallonis said to be filling the void left by Conan on “Late Night.”

“The word is out among the NBC brass: As rumored and bounced around for some time, Jimmy Fallon is set to take Conan O’Brien’s job as host of “Late Night” in 2009. It’s a done deal.”

The official announcement will take place either May 11th or 12th when the network finalizes the fall schedule. The general consensus seems to be that the actor will do well at something that doesn’t require him to act.

Agreed. I love Conan. Whoever they put in his place once he moves to doesn’t really matter to me as long as jems like making fun of Jake Gyllenhaal are still be crunked out by O’Brien, they could put a jar of spaghetti sauce in his old slot.
