George Clooney Held at Gun Point by Children
On a trip to Sudan, George Cooney was mugged at a checkpoint by children waving around AK47 rifles in 2006. He was going through a checkpoint and a swarm of young kids mobbed his car stealing anything they could get their hands on. This was not a personal attack on a celebrity. The thieves did not recognize him as Clooney later joked, “They don’t have great TV out there!”
“There were all these young kids with AK47s,” said Clooney, “They pointed guns at us and stole what they could. It happens all the time.”
Clooney, as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, has traveled to Sudan before with no problem. Clooney wants to draw attention to the thousands of people who have been killed in Darfur by the Janjaweed, a militia sponsored by the government.
“There are innocent people there being put in harms way in the most brutal of fashions. Clooney was quoted as saying. The world needs to step up. People need to come forward and say ‘genocide is taking place’.”
With celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Clooney fighting working for the UN they are looking good. Clooney and BFF Brad Pitt would look fab in camo don’t ya think?
Call him paranoid from his attack or just oblivious to the crazy-making of Britney Spears. Being her neighbor and unaware he was living next door her, the hospital debacle caught him by surprise. He thought his guest house was being attacked by a crazed escaped criminal. Close enough.
