Peter Doherty: The Musical

Carl Barat and Crazy Pete Doherty are teaming up to pen a musical for the London theater. The plot will surround a rock band in the early stages of stardom. The theater commissioned the duo to crank out the production with at least 20 songs included in their pitch.

A rep for Doherty confirmed that they are currently working on the musical and it is “”very much in the early stages of development, with no deadlines attached.”

Lets just hope there aren’t any expectations attached either. I am sure they will come up with something that involves a hair dryer, a cat, an old drag queen singing “Sunrise, Sunset” and 3 hours of a guy laughing about the word pumpernickel.
