P.E.T.A. Goes ‘There’ with Jamie Lynn Spears - VIDEO
By Allie | January 15, 2008
Jamie Lynn Spears is the recent victim of P.E.T.A., but it’s not for wearing fur.
She’s being attacked for being a pregnant teenager.
Not only that, the ad will only be broadcast in Jamie Lynn’s home state of Louisiana this week. Is that because they don’t think anybody else in the country will know who she is? OR… do they think teenage pregnancy is only an issue in Louisiana? Either way, I call foul.
The ad will be running in Ms. Spears’ home state of Louisiana this week to remind residents of the Bayou State that animal overpopulation in this country has extended well beyond crisis proportions, and that anyone who cares about their dog or cat should have them spayed or neutered immediately.

1. Jamie Lynn Spears is not the first nor will she be the last pregnant teenager. I think it is totally immature and obnoxious of PETA to use her situation to make that 1st advertisement, AND for it to only air in her hometown Louisiana. PETA acts as if Jamie Lynn Spears is the only pregnant teenager ever. Why not air this advertisement to all the states that have pregnant teenagers? That would be all 50 states. And the way the parents are portrayed…I’m sure the Spears’ parents didn’t take her pregnancy into account lightly. However, what’s done is done and they are supporting their daughter with her decision in having the baby ( even though Jamie Lynn is going to give up her baby because she feels it will be in the best interest of the baby ). That is their business and their business only, not yours or mine or anyone else’s. Props to Jamie-Lynn for taking responsibility and handling this situation in a completely mature manner ( unlike people of PETA who are double or more her age ). Like I said, what’s done is done and I’m happy for her for deciding to give this unborn child a chance at life ( a chance that everybody deserves whether the birth mother be 16 or 30 ).
2. The amount of money PETA spends on these worthless advertisements could be used on them being more active and productive in actually trying to save these animals they cared about. What good is PETA doing wasting their money to bash celebrities who wear fur? And to target these celebrities in such immature manners. Makes me believe the people of PETA were brutally bullied as children and still as adults. Why else would they put down other human beings so much? Let me tell you people of PETA, in case you haven’t learned this growing up, two wrongs don’t make a right. If you cared about animals as much as you claim to, you should be doing something more than making dumb advertisements. ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS ( another thing I’m afraid you might have never learned growing up ). You guys can talk all you want about “this is wrong and that is wrong” and “OMG don’t eat meat!” and “OMG don’t wear fur!” but in the ends, it’s all just talk.
3. Please don’t misinterpret this as me being an animal-hater because I am the complete opposite. I just believe PETA approaches about this the wrong way in all ways possible. They are the worst organization EVER.
