Teri Hatcher Sued for $2.4 Million
Ms. Hatcher is in it deep. Hydroderm won’t be on her Christmas card list this year. The skin care company has slapped a lawsuit on the “Desperate Housewives” leading lady. After signing a deal for $2.4 million in 2005 with Hydroderm, she agreed not to pimp any other “competing products.”
The company has completed a list of over 17 products that Teri’s name or image has been associated with. City Cosmetics was one of the only products named. Apparently she was used in “promotional materials” for the CityLips limp plumping lipstick along with giving them credit for making her pretty for red carpet events. She also gave CityLips away as party favors at one of her birthday parties.
Of course Team Hatcher has fired back at Hydroderm. She is aiming to get paid for her time with the company and is going after her share of the profits. No word on a counter suit, but she will be seeking punitive damages. Her attorney issued a statement in her defense.
“[The lawsuit is an] unjustified and public assault on Teri Hatcher’s good name, reputation and celebrity in a transparent and pathetic effort to distract from its own failure to live up to its end of the agreement. [She has complied to her contract despite] a frustrating series of changes in the ownership and management of Hydroderm over the last several years.”
Is it just me or is it like high school, but with lawyers and a fat check book.
