Neurosonic Gets Cease and Desist after Making Fun of Ashlee Simpson
By Allie | November 26, 2007
A band called Neurosonic has written a song making fun of Ashlee Simpson’s lip-synching debacle on Saturday Night Live called “So Many People.”
Pete Wentz, in defense of his girlfriend sent a cease and desist letter to the band. The group ignored the letter and are still performing the song. It’s like Paris Hilton trying to sue Hallmark, no?
Reports Page Six,
ROCKER Pete Wentz has sent a cease-and-desist request to heavy metal band Neurosonic over their new song that bashes his girlfriend Ashlee Simpson, the group’s frontman, Jason Darr, said at a Knitting Factory performance Wednesday night. The tune, “So Many People,” pokes fun at Simpson’s horrific “Saturday Night Live” appearance, during which she was caught lip-synching and ran offstage. Darr then invited the audience to dance a “jig” along to the song, just like Simpson did before she fled the stage that night.
I think freedom of speech will inhibit Pete’s ability to keep them from performing the song.
What others said:
- Dlisted says, “I’m going to send a cease and desist to the band for a different reason. The song sucks and hurts my ears and others shouldn’t have to go through the same pain! I’m also going to send a cease and desist to Pete Wentz for shooting that sex scene with that chick from Hell’s Kitchen.”

I think its hilarious!! I love Neurosonic to death… and my argument wont change, Fall Out Boy and Ashlee Simpson have no talent what-so-ever!! So who really cares what they have to say?
However, everyone is entitled to their opinion, not everyones gonna like Neurosonics music… however, all this news flyin around only gets them more fans!! So keep it up!! ; )

He didn’t send any letter to the band and I’m glad. Neurosonic. . .you’re pretty much my favorite for writing that song. I can’t stand Ashlee. She’s a talentless dog who needs to go back from whatever rock she came out of.

Re: DLISTED’s comment - the D obviously stands for DUHHHHHHHHHHHHH - if the song “SO MANY PEOPLE” is as bad as you seem to think, then why has it bumped up to #31 on the charts - check it out: http://www.radioandrecords.com/Formats/Charts/AR_Chart.asp
Your taste in music is in your butt.
