Michelle Christine Trachtenberg (born October 11, 1985) is an American television and film actress.
She’s 22!
Michelle was born in New York City to Michael, an AT&T field engineer, and Lana, a former actress turned puppeteer. Her mother Lana was born in Russia, and Michelle is fluent in the language. She is of Jewish heritage and celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah; her grandparents live in Israel.
Michelle made her first television appearance in 1988 in a commercial for Wisk Detergent. She made over 100 commercials after that. Michelle’s first credited role was Nona F. Mecklenberg in “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” from 1994 until 1996. At the same time, she played Lily Montgomery in the soap “All My Children”.
Michelle’s first film was 1996’s Harriet the Spy in which Michelle played the lead role. Her other films include “Inspector Gadget”, “Can’t Be Heaven”, “EuroTrip”, “Ice Princess”,
In 2000, she returned to television and played Dawn Summers in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. She continued in the role until the show ended in 2003. Michelle also had a recurring role as Celest on “Six Feet Under”.
Michelle was recently cast as the female lead in the ABC comedy pilot called “The Hill”, set in Washington, D.C.
Michelle has done a pretty good job of staying out of the tabloids for the most part. The one time she made news was when she was rumored to be dating Jason Lewis.
