Kate Hudson Does Harper’s Bazaar
Kate Hudson on the September cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

Kate on men and monogamy: “As primal beings, men are not supposed to be monogamous. When people ask, ‘Do you believe in monogamy?’ Well, of course that’s what you want. But part of what I love about men is that it’s hard for them to be monogamous. Women, I think, need to spend more time understanding men than changing men. And vice versa.”
On the dating scene as a newly single mom: “Dating becomes very different…You realize after you have had children that you’ll never love anything more than your child. That is your love. That is your life. So it makes the new sort of single-mom dating process very different. It’s like growing up. It’s adult.”
On “snapping back” into shape after giving birth: “I pole dance…I’ll run, do Pilates, mat work…I’ll go take a spinning class.”
On her obsession with lingerie: “I am totally obsessed with lingerie. How often I wear it is not often enough…We like La Perla. They made great things for small-breasted women.”
On people who preach: “Can’t stand it…Someone tells me not to have a cigarette, I want to throw them over the balcony, you know? Or vegetarians, anything like that. Outside I’ve got an SUV and I have a Prius.”
On having more children: “I’d love to have more kids. Of course. I’ve always wanted to have a lot. My dream is to have four.”
On whether she thinks she will marry again: “I don’t know. I checked that off my list of to-dos. And I can check off divorce…The idea of marriage, I realize now, no longer holds the answer to anything.”
