Britney Spears Pays Own Money For New Music Video
By Consuela B. | August 6, 2007
Britney’s video for her comeback song must be really bad, if she’s putting up $30,000 of her own money to fund the project.
Sources claim the 25-year-old singer funded the promo for comeback single ‘Get Back’ because she was going against the wishes and advice of her label, Jive Records.
The video, which was shot in a Los Angeles warehouse, features Britney pole dancing in a tiny black dress and thigh high boots. The extras dancing in the video worked for free but Britney had to pay for the rest of the production costs.
A source told E! Online, “There’s no real reason for her to pay for a video herself unless it’s about creative control. If the label pays for the video, they hire the director and the rest of the creative team. I suspect this is her wanting to steam ahead and answer her critics now, while her label wants to wait.”
Why would Jive pay to have Britney wear a hideous outfit and dance on a pole, when we get that for free all the time. Not only that, her free show usually has a lot less clothes.
